The conditions in paper mills favour the growth of many species of microorganisms. This is true for the water circuit in paper machines as well as for the broad variety of auxiliaries used in paper and board production like pulp, coatings, sizes, retention aids and other materials. Preventol^® grades that are used in the paper industry include broad-spectrum slimicides, based for example on the Preventol^® P brand of products, as well as the whole range of Preventol^® in-can preservatives. Certain Preventol^® brands can even be used for the production of materials for food packaging, because they cannot be detected in finished paper and cardboard (BgVV approvals)
